Idolatry and human sacrifice were always connected in the ancient world. By their very nature as an affront to the living God the idols are still stained with the blood of innocents. It is the first crime against God and men. Satan instigated all idolatry to have himself worshiped instead of God. Any and all involvement with idolatry separates one from the True God.
